When I first became active on Poshmark I had received a purchase in the mail that had included a free headband and a couple stickers. This small but generous gift made me excited and wanting to buy more items from the account. Over the years I have received a variety of free gifts on Poshmark. Ranging from small things like stickers and hair ties, to receiving items like swimsuits and tee shirts. With every free gift I’ve gotten I have also left a 5-star review. I began to wonder how I could add in my own free gifts into packages without losing a ton of profits. Free gifts are a good idea for many reasons, they boost ratings, increase sales, and leave the customer wanting more pieces from your closet. The first thing to discuss when talking about free gifts is the boost it gives to your “love notes” page. Below, I have added reviews of people who have received a free gift: The reviews and the customer satisfaction when receiving a free gift is always positive and boosts the overall ratings in your closet. The second factor is the increased sales in your closet. Often times, if someone makes me an offer I will counter with a higher price. This allows me to then go ahead and message them in a bundle and offer a deal. I often times say a variation of “Hi! Thank you so much for the offer, I countered and if you decide to accept, I can ship today with a free gift”. This works a large percent of the time and leaves me with more sales and more customers accepting offers. The only problem with this idea is how do you get enough free gifts? Often times I ship out around 20 packages a week and sometimes find it hard to keep up with adding free gifts into every box. I recently cleaned out my room after moving back from college. I added everything I was getting rid of to a large box next to my shipping supplies. Over the next few weeks I would grab something from the box to add to a package with each sale. These were little things like coin pouches or necklaces. I cleaned out my room while at the same time making my customers overall experience better. Gifts can be a pathway to returning customers and great ratings.
